CPSIA Giveaway: Sugar Sweet Bowtique All Tied Up By Regulations!

by Walney on January 17, 2009

I have been posting about the CPSIA in general terms, but now it’s time to get specific with stories of real businesses who are closing or may have to close due to the CPSIA.

Our first story is that of Mandi and her Sugar Sweet Bowtique. When I asked her what the CPSIA will mean to her business, this is what she told me,

“Between chasing four children 5 and under, I sit down in the eveinings, tally orders from Sugar Sweet Bowtique (my hairbow business) and tie up hair bows to send out to my customers. Of course, if memebrs of Congress have their way, on February 10th, it will be me tied up and now my bows.

I will lose my business because I cannot afford the testing that the CPSIA of 2008 requires.

It will be a sad day, not just for my Bowtique, but for hundreds of thousands of people all across america who want to do nothing by try to make a small income for the betterment of their families.”

To support CPSIA awareness, Mandi pulled together a special “Valentine’s Hair Bow Collection” giveaway for my readers.

To enter the giveaway, please go to her website then come back to this post and let us know which of her beautiful, handmade bows is your favorite. For an extra entry, you can blog about this giveaway and link back to this post.

This giveway ends at midnight on Friday, January 23rd and the winner will be selected using a random number generator.

Please continue to spread the word about this new law and how it impacts businesses across the United States.

Are you kidding?! I have to pick just one??? Okay, I really couldn’t pick a favorite, so I asked my 4 yr old daughter to pick hers. She picked the hot pink lemonade korker after changing her mind about 15 times. Just like her mom, what can I say?

Also, I just blogged about it! I have not only posted a couple rants about the testing law, I’ve also contacted my congressman about it. I enjoy being able to get these bows, as well as using Ebay and Freecycle and such….I’m incenced that the government is taking away one of the best things about our country – being able to make a business out of anything. And the stupid problems started out-of-country, ANYWAY! So glad you did this post on CPSIA awareness! Keep spreading the word!
