Dear Ms. Vallese,
I realize that you are no longer the spokesperson, but thought that it is still important that you are well informed about the CPSIA, I am therefore sending you a compilation of posts from people who you cannot qualify as mommybloggers and therefore you might take what they have to say more seriously.
- Walter Olson’s CPSIA Series
- Mark Riffey’s CPSIA posts
- Jeff Stier’s Op-Ed Piece in the New York Post
- Popehat – The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act: All Baby, No Bathwater
- Upturned Earth – Stop the CPSIA
- Hodak Value – Because Otherwise Companies Will Kill Their Customers
- Mark Thompson’s – To the Barricades!
- Paul H. Rubin’s – Scrap the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act – III
- Geek Dad’s – CPSIA Set to Kill The Handmade Toy Industry
Yes, that’s right, women aren’t the only ones who feel this legislation needs to be changed. Women aren’t the only ones trying to build awareness and inform the public of the impact this will have on small businesses, libraries, consumers, and resale shops.
So please, take some time to read what they have to say as I’m hopeful it will teach you a couple of things about how truly wrong this new legislation is.
Regards,
Whimsical Walney

OMG! That’s PERFECT!
I hope you sent it.

Thanks for representing the men!
The video interview with Julie Vallese was truly offensive but rather than gather sources for her that we think she will give credence too , i.e. only men, we need to make sure she hears the voices of all people affected by this legislation whether or not they are the best writers/journalists on the web and whether or not they are white dudes.
Minnie – I couldn’t agree more but was in a really sarcastic mood and still reeling from the comment. We not only have to have everyone’s voices heard, but all of the different industries affected as well. We talk about no more baby blankets, bibs, onesies, children’s books, etc. but as we know this law encompasses everything up to the age of 12. If the law stands as is, shopping for that first day of school for kids won’t be all that fun.
You guys probably know that Julie Vallese left the CPSC right after that dumb video… but she got a new job! http://www.burson-marsteller.com/Innovation_and_insights/blogs_and_podcasts/BM_Blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=85
