CPSIA Series: No more treehouse for Walney!

by Walney on January 15, 2009

Whimsical Walney is being evicted out of our treehouse by the new Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA)! I won’t bore you with the details, but suffice it to say that treating large and small alike when writing this law is putting small companies like mine out of business across the United States.

After midnight on February 9th, my clothing is considered a “banned hazardous substance” so I may not sell it OR give it away. I’m not one for the dramatic but it appears that the CPSC should be nominated for an Oscar. The quotes are their exact wording, not a concoction of mine.

I am therefore selling everything for 50% off retail while supplies last in the hopes that children get to wear these great products while there is still time!

Please spread the word about the sale and about the damage this law is doing to so many small businesses, as well as their vendors and supplier, across the United States.
